Personal description
Sun Ruirui is a trademark counsel based in the firm’s Beijing Office, where she has been practicing since 2014.
Ms. Sun received her LLB degree from Wuhan University School of Law and LLM degree in Intellectual Property & Technology Law from Washington University in St. Louis.
Ruirui’s practice focuses on trademark prosecution and contentious matters. She has represented clients’ interests in hundreds of proceedings concerning granting and affirmation of trademark rights. She also advises clients on a frequent basis on other IP matters, inter alia, the formulation of overall plan for trademark protection.
She represented a CCTV host in successfully preventing a third party from registering her name as a trademark through opposition and invalidation proceeding. She also obtained well-known trademark recognition for a world-renowned press in respect of non-identical/dissimilar class in an opposition proceeding, which is selected by China National Intellectual Property Administration as one of the exemplary cases in 2019.
Ms. Sun also lectures on the Recognition of Famous Trademark in Beijing at a training session organized by the Dongcheng District Administration for Market Regulation. She is invited to record a lecture for the Haidian District Administration for Market Regulation on the World Intellectual Property Day in 2020.
