Mr. Yang Qian is a patent attorney based in the firm’s Beijing Office. Mr. Yang was admitted to China Bar in 2014. He became a certified patent attorney in 2015. He practices in the areas of intellectual property law, with a focus on patent matters. His area of technical expertise covers mechanical engineering and material processing, with his sector strength concentrating on household appliances.
Mr. Yang has years’ experience in prosecuting and litigating patent matters. Before joining in the firm, he used to work for a local IP firm in the capacity of patent attorney, drafting and translating patent applications as well as forwarding and responding to Office Actions and Reexamination decisions.
Mr. Yang’s practice is twofold. He reviews and drafts patent application documents, forwards and responds to Office Actions issued by the Chinese Patent Office and its foreign counterparts, conducts FTO analysis as well as does opinion work on patent and technology-related matters. He is also familiar with US and European patent practice.
He also litigates patent matters, particularly those relating to patent invalidation, patent infringement, investigation and administrative litigation, and disputes arising from patent rights ownership. He also conducts extensive patent infringement analysis, initiates general patent search for product-related industry and specific patent search for focused products to design around competitors' patents.
