Personal description


Daniel Jiang is a partner at Wanhuida Intellectual Property. He joins the firm in February 2024.


Daniel is qualified both as a patent attorney and an attorney-at-law in China. His practice focuses on prosecuting patent applications, advising on patent re-examination, invalidation and licensing matters, as well as formulating and executing patent enforcement and litigating strategy. Daniel’s area of technical expertise includes mechanical, electrical, telecommunications and computer.


Daniel started practicing patent law since 2006. With abundant experience in patent prosecution and contentious matters, he is well positioned to provide reliable and effectual solutions to intricate patent matters. He serves a group of industry leaders, conglomerates as well as multinational corporations. Over the years, he has also retained a keen interest in the patent law and practice in other jurisdictions and often acts on behalf of his clients in their outbound patent prosecution matters in US, Japan, EU, among others.


Daniel started his own IP boutique in 2017. Before that, he was a partner at a prestige Chinese IP firm for 4 years and a patent attorney at a reputable IP firm for 7 years. He used to work as a system engineer at the Hydro One Ontario, Ontario’s largest electricity transmission and distribution service provider in Canada for 2 years.


Daniel is a sought-after lecturer at universities both at home and abroad. He was invited to speak on Chinese Intellectual Property Laws at the seminars hosted by the Stanford Center at Peking University. In 2019 and 2023, he was invited to give a week-long lecture course on China’s IP regime and practice to the students at the Ramat Gan Academic College in Israel.
