WANG Rui is a Partner based in the firm’s Beijing Office. Rui is qualified both as attorney-at-law and patent attorney in China. Her practice focuses on patent prosecution, litigation and contentious in the field of chemistry and materials. She has worked for many domestic and multinational corporations as well as law firms.

She advises clients on a frequent basis on matters relating to patent prosecution, re-examination, non-infringement and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analysis, validity and invalidity assessment in the field of chemistry and materials. Rui and her team’s service are also frequently retained in assisting clients to develop comprehensive protection strategy for their patent rights in China.

Rui is highly capable in the following fields:

Formulating and executing IP portfolio management strategy and analysis, especially comprehensive strategy on patent related prosecution and enforcement;

Representing in patent prosecution and re-examination cases before the Patent Office and Patent Reexamination Board (“PRB”), defending against rejections before the PRB and navigating the patentee through the patent prosecution process from invention to granting;

Providing patent validity opinions for launching new products/processes, and assessing merits for taking invalidation actions.
