Minnan (Miranda) Xie is a Partner based in the firm’s Guangzhou office. Minnan has been practising patent law since 2009. She joined Wanhuida in 2013.

With abundant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemistry and food, she is adept in providing reliable, astute and comprehensive solutions in respect of patent drafting, prosecution, reexamination and invalidation. Her practice also covers patent stability and infringement analysis, freedom-to-operate (FTO) and formulation of patent strategy.

She could tactfully help the clients navigate the CNIPA procedure to secure satisfactory scope of protection for the granted patents. She has a track record of serving industry leaders and prosecuting patent applications incorporating cutting-edge technologies, with a few granted patents winning the silver medal of the 23^rd China Patent Award in 2022 and the 20^th China Patent Award in 2019.

Minnan also supervises the firm’s outbound patent application practice. She is acquainted with the patent prosecution procedures of the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Australia, India, Brazil, among others. She is capable of tailoring, from a global perspective, differentiated drafting and application strategy for domestic clients by leveraging varied prosecution regimes of different jurisdictions to maximize the interests of the clients.

Minnan is listed as a “Recommended Individual” in the prosecution field by IAM Patent 1000 in its 2022 & 2023 edition. She has been included in CNIPA’s national patent practitioner talent pool for her expertise in patent information analysis and integration.
