On 26th September 2022, the “China Intellectual Property Protection Symposium”, which is organized by French association Unifab, is held in Paris.

Wanhuida Intellectual Property Partners Dr. Huang Hui and Paul Ranjard give the attendees an informative introduction on the latest legislative updates surrounding a new round of amendment to China’s trademark law and regulations, and a briefing on a selected list of exemplary cases of China’s Supreme Court and various local courts.

The presentation intends to keep the attendees abreast of the official response of China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) to a proposal tabled by 15 members of the fifth session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (C.P.P.C.C.) re the “Expedition of the Amendment to Trademark Law and the Regulations for the Implementation of the Trademark Law”. The CNIPA’s response could offer practitioners a glimpse of the objectives and focus of the agency’s future draft amendment to the Trademark Law and Implementation Regulations thereof.

The event attracts around 30 corporate counsels and offers a forum of discussion on some hot-button and intricate legal matters.

Created in 1872, Unifab is now an association of defense and promotion of intellectual property rights, including 200 companies stemming from all the business sectors. It is a unique observatory of the protection of intellectual property rights, a source of information and a discussion forum.
