On 5^th December 2023, an Internet business legal service initiative, which is jointly organized by the authorities in Xuhui District, Shanghai and Caohejing Hi-tech Park, is unveiled in Shanghai. The event features presentation and discussion centering on “Embracing AI-generated Content (AIGC): Legal Challenges and Practical Guide in the era of Generative Artificial Intelligence”.

Zhu Zhigang, Partner at Wanhuida Intellectual Property speaks on “Dissection of Copyright Issues in the Context of the Metaverse”. Zhigang prepares the floor on the challenges brought by the metaverse to the copyright arena. He then moves on to analyse the copyrightability of AI-generated content and explores the applicability and protection regime offered by existing Chinese legal framework. Zhigang concludes his presentation with the potential legal risks associated with the transaction of non-fungible tokens.
