Wanhuida jointly hosts seminar with SOEI

On 16th April 2024, the “Risk & Countermeasures of Japanese Trademark Registration Seminar”, which is jointly hosted by Wanhuida Intellectual Property and SOEI Patent and Law Firm (SOEI) and organized by Justra Intellectual Property Center, is held both on site and virtually.


The Seminar is moderated by Wanhuida Partner He Shanmei. The firm’s Partner and Management Committee member Dr. Huang Hui delivers welcome remarks.

Tomoya KUROKAWA, Vice President, Director, Trademark and Design Department, SOEI and Jie Du, Patent Attorney, SOEI delves into the trademark examination standards, choice of trademark signs, goods and services, countermeasures against pre-emptively filed trademarks and bad faith trademarks in Japan. They also provide practical takeaways on the pitfalls and countermeasures (such as opposition and invalidation) in mitigating relevant risks.

In the Q&A session, the speakers answer questions raised by participants on the issues arising in their Japanese trademark prosecution practice. The seminar has a total of some 100 participants attending online and offline.
