Wanhuida Partner Speaks at CLA event

From 14 to 16 November 2019, the 44th IP Institute: IP Without Borders, which is organised by the California Lawyers Association (CLA), is held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is an annual meeting of the CLA’s IP Law Section.

 

The event brings together preeminent speakers from leading companies, government, and law firms to share their tips and tricks and to keep the attendees current on legal developments and trends in IP law.

 

The event kicks off with Nuts and Bolts sessions on patent, copyright, trademark, and licensing; featuring both fundamental information and best practices. The ensuing programming spans the IP spectrum and features panels on privacy, franchising, AI, blockchain, and explore implicit bias in the law, patent damages, loot boxes, among others.

 

Wanhuida Intellectual Property Partner Jason Yao speaks at the panel “Ante Up – Waging Your Bet on Successful Enforcement Efforts in China”. Jason and his fellow panelist Devon Beck, Stussy explain enforcement strategies in China, including administrative, civil and criminal proceedings, expatiate on the recent changes to the trademark laws in China and how these changes will help brand owners tackle trademark squatting.

 

The Intellectual Property Law Section of the California Lawyers Association is dedicated to furthering the knowledge of its members in the law of patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyright, licensing, technology, privacy, entertainment, and sports.
