Wanhuida Partner lectures at JETRO Symposium

On 20th January 2022, the “Symposium on the Guidelines for Trademark Examination and Adjudication”, which is organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), is held virtually.


The “Guidelines for Trademark Examination and Adjudication”, which is released by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) on 16th November 2021, supersedes the Trademark Examination and Adjudication Criteria (2016) as of 1 January 2022.


Dr. Huang Hui, Partner and Management Committee member of Wanhuida Intellectual Property is invited by JETRO to speak on “Changes brought by the 2021 Guidelines for Trademark Examination and Adjudication and the Coping Strategy”.


Dr. Huang shares insights and case law on a variety of topics including trademark bad-faith preemptive registration, distinctiveness assessment, similarity assessment of trademarks and goods, efficacy of coexistence agreement, among others.


The Symposium attracts over 400 attendees, including Japanese corporations like Nissan Motor Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, practitioner from Japanese law firms as well as examiners from the Japan Patent office.
