On 14th November, 2017, the "Symposium on Hot Issues Concerning Granting and Affirmation of Trademark Rights under the New Trademark Law" (the Symposium), which is jointly organised by the IPR Tribunal of the Beijing High Court and the China Trademark Association, is held in Beijing.

Wanhuida Peksung Senior Partner Dr. Huang Hui is invited to attend the Symposium.

The Symposium focuses on the discussion over matters including the criteria for establishing "non bis in idem", factors to be considered in finding distinctiveness of 3D marks and the comparison approach on finding similarity between 3D marks, criteria for finding trademark use in cancellation procedure initiated based on the ground of non-use, as well as the criteria for finding infringement of prior copyright.

Attendees of the Symposium include judges from the Beijing courts, representatives from the Trademark Office and the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board, academicians, experts, as well as in-house counsels.
