Wanhuida Founding Partner Speaks at USF Symposium
On Friday February 23, 2018, the eighth annual McCarthy Institute Symposium (the Symposium), which is entitled "Trademark Law and Its Challenges 2018", is held at Google in Sunnyvale, California.
The Symposium, which is hosted by Google, Seed IP Law Group, INTA and
the University of San Francisco (USF), School of Law – McCarthy Institute for
Intellectual Property and Technology Law (McCarthy Institute), features
keynotes by Danny Sullivan, Public Liaison for Search, Google, and Etienne Sanz
de Acedo, CEO, INTA.
The event features plenary sessions entitled "Cultural Shifts
Affecting Trademarks", "The Latest ICANN Developments Impacting
Trademarks", "Fair Use - On and Off the Internet" and
"Empirical Surveys in Trademark and Advertising Cases".
Wanhuida Founding Partner Bai Gang speaks on "Fair Use of
Trademarks in China -Where is the limit?" in the capacity of panelist to
the "Fair Use - On and Off the Internet" session. Fellow panelists
include Judy Jennison, Partner, Perkins Coie (Moderator), Tom McCarthy, Senior
Professor at the USF School of Law and the Founding Director of the McCarthy
Institute, Emily Burns, Senior Trademark Counsel, Google, Sara Rowe, Product
and Litigation Counsel, Pinterest, as well as Vineeta Gajwani, Managing
Counsel, IP, Electronic Arts.
This annual one-day symposium brings together brand owners, trademark
attorneys, and public policymakers to face off on today's most pressing issues
in trademark law.
