On 3^rd April 2019, the Oriental Intellectual Property Club (OIPC) holds its April Salon in Shanghai. The Salon features discussion centering “Conflict of trademark right and trade name right and the solutions thereof”.

The first half session is moderated by Chen Jun, Intellectual Property Director of Schaeffler China and OIPC Council Member. Featured speakers include Ms. Yuan Tian, judge of the IPR Tribunal of Pudong New Area Court and Dr. Sisi Liang, Partner of Wanhuida Intellectual Property Shanghai Office. Dr. Liang’s presentation parses from a practical perspective the prevalent trend of free-riding of trade names and proposes workable solutions.

The second half session is moderated by Mr. Yuan Xiuting, Professor of Law School of Tongji University and OIPC Vice President. Featured speakers include Mr. Liu Yonggang, Senior IP Manager, Greater China of Emerson Electric (China) Holding Co., Ltd.

The Salon attracts over 80 attendees including in-house counsels, judges, academicians and practitioners from IP intermediaries.
