Wanhuida Partners attend INTA policy dialogue

On 30th November 2021, INTA hosts a joint policy dialogue with a court delegation from China, led by Supreme People’s Court, and joined with Beijing High Court and Beijing Intellectual Property Court. Over 30 INTA members participate in a heated discussion on an INTA Board Resolution concerning “Recommended Procedures to Address Bad Faith Trademark Applications and Registrations”, which the organization adopted in November 2020, and other initiatives Chinese courts roll out in curbing malicious IP lawsuits.


INTA CEO Etienne Sanz de Acedo and President Tiki Dare deliver opening remarks and extend invitations to the court delegation to the 2022 INTA annual meeting to be held in Washington DC as a physical event with virtual components from 30th April to 4th May 2022. INTA China Officer Monica Su vows to further the collaboration between the association and Chinese courts in promoting the selection of intellectual property exemplary cases and publication of the same through INTA platform.


The event is moderated by Wanhuida Partner Zhu Zhigang, China Task Force lead, INTA Enforcement Committee. The firm’s Partner He Wei, member of INTA Geographical Indications Committee, serves as an interpreter. Partner Lei Yongjian, member of China Trademark Office Practice Subcommittee, Trademark Office Practices Committee speaks at the event. Other attendees from the firm include its partners Yang Mingming, member of East Asia Subcommittee, INTA Non-Traditional Marks Committee and Fan Yongming, member of INTA Unfair Competition Committee.
