The 2^nd Edition of the “Intellectual Property in European Union”, which is co-authored by Li Mingde, Researcher, Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Yan Wenjun of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dr. Huang Hui, Partner and Management Committee member of Wanhuida Intellectual Property, is published by Law Press.

The 1^st edition was published in 2010. Since then, the European Union has promulgated and revised a slew of IP directives and regulations pertaining to copyright, patent, design, trademark and trade secret. The EU judiciary has also rendered during the last decade an array of decisions that are of far-reaching impact over the implementation of the newly promulgated or revised IP legislation.

The 2^nd edition attempts to reflect the latest development and progress EU has made in the IP arena by providing a systematic introduction of the EU IP legislation in terms of copyright, patent, design, new plant varieties, trade secret and trademark and by elaborating on the application of the IP legislation in practice through the introduction of abundant exemplary cases adjudicated by the EUIPO, General Court of the European Union as well as the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).

The edition will help the readers better understand the EU IP legislation and the impact toward national IP laws in the member states.
