Wanhuida Peksung Delegation Attends 2017 AIPPI World Congress in Sydney

From 13 to 17 of October, 2017, the 2017 AIPPI World Congress is held in Sydney, Australia.


This year, AIPPI (the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) celebrates its 120th Anniversary. The congress features extensive program, including debates on the 2017 Study Questions concerning patentability of computer implemented inventions, bad faith trademarks, protection of graphical user interfaces and quantification of monetary relief; briefing sessions on Development and IP, the development of the IP system in China, recent developments in the EPO, and an update on Brexit/the UPC, the first-ever Young AIPPI Forum; and much more.

Ms. Xiaoling Duan attends the meeting of the AIPPI Communications Committee, which creates and circulates the AIPPI e-news, and the Standing Committee on IP Office Practice and Procedures, which advocates the harmonization of procedural matters of IP offices. She also votes on matters proposed at the AIPPI ExCo (I) and ExCo (II) meetings with the delegates of the Standing Committee of AIPPI's Chinese Group.

On 15 of October, the China Trademark Association (CTA) holds bilateral meeting with the high level members of the AIPPI. Mr. Jason Yao attends the meeting as representative of the CTA's Vice President.
