The firm has secured two top-tier rankings on the prestigious platform, across “Trade mark prosecution – domestic firms” and “Trade mark disputes – domestic firms”, which affirms its status as a leader in the PRC legal market. The IP STARS annual rankings identify the top law firms and lawyers across a variety of IP practice areas and more than 80 jurisdictions, making it the most comprehensive and widely respected IP practitioner guide in the legal profession. The June 4 release also includes the list of IP Star, Rising Star and Notable Practitioner for 2026.
An IP Star is a very experienced senior IP practitioner in private practice who has been recommended by peers and/or clients as someone that is integral to the success of their firm. IP Stars are tagged according to their key practice areas, e.g. patent star and trade mark star. The 2026 IP Stars list is primarily based on research information obtained in 2025.
BAI Gang, the firm’s Founding Partner and Management Committee Chair and his fellow partners and management committee members Dr. HUANG Hui and REN Haiyan are selected as “Trade mark star 2026”.
A Rising Star is an up-and-coming IP practitioner who is expected to become a prominent practitioner in the future in their firm and jurisdiction. Although selection is primarily based on an individual’s expertise and contributions to their firm, the research team also takes account of their activities in the IP community.
The firm’s Partners DU Binbin and WANG Yuming are included in the list. Yuming and Binbin made their debut in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
The Notable Practitioner tag recognises individuals who play either an active or a supportive role in their firms. The firm’s Partner HE Wei makes the list this year. Wei made his debut in the List of Notable Practitioners in 2020. He was ranked again in 2024.
