On June 7, 2026, the Beijing Technology and Business University inaugurates its Intellectual Property Research Center and hosts a Symposium themed “Intellectual Property Theory and Practice in the Emerging Industry”.
The event brings together over 30 participants from government, industry, universities and research institutes, exploring the IP rule of law in the frontier field.

Professor Li Mingde, Director Emeritus at IP Center of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Li Guangming, Chief, International Exchange & Cooperation Section, Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office are present at the inaugural ceremony. Professor Liu Junjun of the BTBU Law School is appointed to lead the IP Research Center.
In the ensuing symposium, guest speakers share insights on topics like “IP theory and practice at where law and commerce intersect in the backdrop of digital technology”, and “IP theory and practice in the food and pharmaceutical industry”.
Wang Yuming, Partner, Wanhuida Intellectual Property, speaks on “Conundrum and Emerging Adjudicating Trends in Bio/Pharma Patent infringement Suit”. Yuming shares the firm’s best practice in evidence collection, sample preservation and appraisal of the technical finding process, the observation on proving infringement scale, profit margin and contribution ratio of patent at issue, as well as the application of punitive damages in patent infringement cases. He also shares from a case law perspective the practical experience in navigating various procedures ranging from patent infringement, patent invalidity, to patent linkage and patent anti-monopoly procedure.

The symposium offers a premium platform of discussion over the IP academic research in the emerging industries.
