Wanhuida scoops Firm of the Year and takes home China: Trademark Contentious award at this year’s Managing IP APAC Awards 2022
Wanhuida is delighted to have been chosen as Firm of the Year at the prestigious Managing IP APAC Awards 2022. The firm saw off strong competition from firms who have performed exceptionally at both local and national levels.
Managing IP Editor-in-Chief Ed Conlon said of Wanhuida's win:
“The trademark contentious winner in China represented foreign brands such as Stihl, Wyeth and New Balance in brand enforcement actions which resulted in the award of high punitive damages. The firm also represented Chanel in an unfair competition action to protect its trade dress for Chanel N° 5."
On the awards themselves, he added:“We are delighted to be able to present the winners of the Managing IP APAC 2022 Awards. While it is a disappointment that the awards must once again be virtual, that hasn’t impacted the quality of the research we’ve had this year.
“Well done to all the winners across the Asia-Pacific region on their deserved victories. A Managing IP award is a hard-earned and prestigious accolade that should be celebrated fully.
“While it has been a pleasure to announce the winners virtually, we very much hope to see you in person in 2023.”
