Wanhuida Partners Speak at IPO Annual Meeting

From 24th to 26th of September 2019, the 47th Annual Meeting of the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) is convened in Washington, DC.

 

The annual meeting is unveiled by the welcome remarks delivered by keynote speakers Cathy Engelbert, Commissioner of the Women’s National Basketball Association, António Campinos, President of the European Patent Office and Hon. Andrei Iancu, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

 

On 26th of September, Wanhuida Partners Dr. S. Sam Li and Haiyan Ren speak at sessions featuring “Strategy Considerations for Global Patent Litigation” and “How to Protect Your Brand in China”. Sam and his fellow speakers address opportunities and risks presented by various jurisdictions, and important strategic considerations in managing concurrent disputes throughout the world. Haiyan and her fellow panelists discuss how to build a brand protection program in China; the China subclassification system and why it is important; filing strategies; the role of copyright in China; protection of characters and fonts; and enforcement, including collaborating with law enforcement.

 

The IPO Annual Meeting offers a mix of educational programs led by leaders in the IP Industry, committee meetings, networking functions, exhibits, and more. The event brings together IP professionals from corporations, law firms, government, academia, and service providers from around the world to discuss strategies, trends, and best practices.
